Memori Tok Cik

Ayah Cik/Tok Cik

Dipetik daripada Facebook Sallij:

Tok Ayah was not a fisherman (though he tried on many occasions), because he suffered from chronic sea sickness. He could had joined Tok Tan or Tok Long (mak Aji's uncles who were welknown JURAGANS and boats owners. Tok Long was known as Che Salleh kaya in Kuala Besut. Arwah Chek - mak Aji's father owned bendang padi and kebun kelapa while Mak Besar was the kampong's tailor - (Telok Budu). She also sold kain yang dibeli dari Tok Shiek Che Hasan who later became besan kpd arwah Che Su. #mek yah kawin che gu Aziz.
Mama & Mak Besar

Tok Ayah wanted to chart his own destiny. Mulanya menyadat (buat guła melaka). Sementara nira di dalam kawah, diatas rokmo (dapor khas untuk buat gula melaka) dijaga oleh mak Aji, tok Ayah akan pegi menjala ikan for our daily needs. He would make sure l tagged along. We never failed to bring home some fish, especially ikan anding. You never see ikan anding anymore in the market. Tok Ayah made sure we would be back in time for him to masukan boiling gula melaka ke dalam kerek (acuan) yang telah mak Aji sediakan.

Tok Ayah & Mak Aji

Later he improved himself dengan membuat kelapa kering (copra). There was a time when mak Aji nearly drown falling from the boat carrying coconuts. Tok Ayah tak ada ladang kelapa so tok Ayah pajak ladang orang. My next story.

Mak Aji

Point to ponder: whenever I did something wrong, like mandi sungai or late pergi bengaji quraan he would chase and beat me dengan rotan, atau seludang kelapa. But setiap kali tersasur terkena dinding, lantai or tangga rumah. Do not try this trick. Today's children learn too fast.
